Plant Mechanic Supervisor

Salary: £19.2 – £20.4 per hour

Our client is seeking to employ and experienced Plant Mechanic/Supervisor for their business based in Newcastle upon Tyne. With over 50 years’ experience in the plant hire and tools sector they are a successful business offering stability and growth for their employees.

The ideal candidate will have a background in the repair and maintenance of construction based mobile plant such as Excavators and attachments, Dumpers, Telehandlers, Compressors and a wide range of Tools. Also, the ideal candidate will have workshop knowledge and the ability to lead a team.

Job Role

* Supervising a team of 6 mechanics and organising day to day workload

* Taking the lead to repair a wide range of mobile plant and equipment as and when required.

* Ordering of parts when required and replenishing stock.

* Organisation of repairs of subcontractor equipment when required.

* Dealing with damages and repairs and delegating to the team.

* Raising jobs sheet and dealing with the invoicing process.

* Organising the maintenance of the commercial vehicles by subcontractors

* Promoting safe working practises with the business and team.

* Practising core values with the business and demonstrating leadership skills.

Qualifications & Experience

* Experienced and time served mobile plant mechanic.

* Experience of supervising a team of mechanics

* Computed literate

* Experience of managing a workshop

* Full UK driving license.
