Pharmaceutical Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist – Hertfordshire

Opportunity:

This is a brand new position that has been created due to expansion of the company.

If you are currently working within the pharmaceutical or related industry with strong senior buying and supplier development and employee management experience then this is the role for you.

Your role as a Pharmaceutical Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist based in Hertfordshire will involve managing a small team ensuring that the site is effective from procurement to release.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Responsible for all purchasing activities, direct and indirect related to plant operations, which include procurement of all supplies, capital equipment services and preparing contracts.
• Source and develop key suppliers and implement strategies and programs to reduce total cost.
• Supplier quality assurance development.
• Responsible for supplier management activities for all raw material suppliers; these include contract and pricing agreement negotiations, problem resolution, project management and supplier performance reporting.
• Support and lead cross functional teams in order to successfully drive complex sourcing projects.
• Annual standard costing process and provide price forecasts. Maintain standard costing program to ensure a positive PPV.
• Continuous improvement.
• Coach and mentor Supply Chain team.

Skills:

To apply for the role of Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist you will have the following:

• Degree in Engineering, Business or Scientific subject.
• Strong experience in procurement / buying and supply chain management in a medical device / pharmaceutical manufacturing or related environment.
• Computer skills and systems knowledge (JDE or other ERP systems, and Excel).
