PETA are proud to be working with Carrera to support them with the recruitment and training of a new IT Technician Apprentice. The successful applicant will join the team at their office in Fareham and work Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:00pm.

Training to be provided:

As an IT Support Technician Apprentice, you will be studying towards a level three ICT Support Technician apprenticeship. This apprenticeship is 22 months in length and will involve ongoing onsite training and mentoring from the team at Carrera combined with 25 days of off the job training at the PETA training centre in Cosham.

About the role:

Joining the team as an IT Support Technician Apprentice, you will learn how to provide effective IT assistance to a range of clients.  You will begin to take responsibility for a range of tasks including:Managing client support tickets on the Helpdesk system
Escalating IT issues to the IT manager where necessary
Diagnosing and resolving technical issues
Maintaining efficient operation and control of the IT and/or Telecommunications infrastructure)
Hands-on hardware system builds and repairs
Working on the application of infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment, and monitoring of infrastructure components

Whilst you do not need any formal IT experience, you will need a genuine interest in IT, have an enthusiastic and flexible approach to work, be an excellent team player and have the confidence and ability to solve problems.
To be considered for this role, you will also require:GCSEs at grade 4/C or above in English and maths (or equivalent)
BTEC or equivalent in a computer related subject
A genuine interest in IT and a desire to build on technical skills
An aptitude for hands-on problem solving
Ability to use initiative and take ownership for own performance
Strong team-working skills
Excellent communication skills
Excellent time management skills with the ability to balance work and the coursework
Desirable skills:A driving licence and own transport would be an advantage
