We have an exciting opportunity for a Pet Claims Handler to join our team who will provide an efficient and professional service to assist our customers when making a pet insurance claim. The successful candidate will come from a background of providing the very best customer service with the ability to empathize with customers in high pressure situations.

The Pet Claim’s Handler will provide an efficient and professional service to assist our customers when making a pet insurance claim dealing with all aspects of the claim including the full assessment.

Our Pet Claims Handlers work 37.5 hours flexibly over 5 days, Monday to Friday. This is a mixture of weekday shifts between the hours of 8am and 6pm. Working on a hybrid basis consisting of two choices:

1 week in the office followed by 2 weeks working from home.
Work full time from the office.

The Role:

  • To deal with all aspects of pet insurance claims, including the full assessment of claims.
  • Providing market leading standard of customer service and effectively explaining policy details to our customers.
  • To provide support to the Pet Team Leader, Technical Lead & Manager where required; including identifying commercial opportunities.
  • The successful candidate will strive to understand general insurance procedures taking appropriate action where needed alongside adapting to varying levels of work volumes and be able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Assisting in compiling both statistics and spreadsheets for the purpose of MI
  • At all times remaining empathetic to customers following a pet injury/illness
  • Working effectively towards agreed KPI’s
  • Being the first point of call when a customer wishes to make a complaint and ensuring it is handled inline with regulatory guidelines
  • Identifying fraudulent claims

The Candidate:

  • Experience of working within a Veterinary practice or environment with basic medical knowledge.
  • The successful candidate will have proven customer service experience ideally within an environment where they have been working with animals
  • With the ability to work in a fast paced environment and can work independently or collaboratively
  • Coupled with excellent communication skills you will be able to demonstrate the ability to overcome objections and at all times ensure you are be empathetic and professional with your customers.
  • Demonstrates resilience by maintaining drive and enthusiasm when faced with challenging situations
  • Excellent computer and written skills
  • Good business and insurance product knowledge would be advantageous.
  • GCSE level Maths & English
