Personal Health Advisor – Shrewsbury (Part Time)

We currently have an exciting position for a Personal Health Advisor in Shrewsbury to join a large UK provider of Government Work Programme initiatives. Duties:

You will be delivering bio-psychosocial initial health assessments to identify clients health related concerns and barriers to returning to work, usually taking place via face to face 1:1 appointments but may also require telephone based interventions as well as on occasions a home/community visit.

You will ensure that during the initial health assessment and at various points along the contract the standardised health diagnostics, as well as standardised outcome measures are completed and you may also be required to complete additional clinical measures depending on client need/s.

You will be delivering additional health appointments to review client’s progress whilst on the ESA pilot programme, this will usually take place via face to face 1:1 appointments but may also require telephone based interventions, as well on occasions a home/community visit.

You will ensure that key aspects of health, work and wellbeing are covered during the appointments that ESA clients have on the ESA pilot, examples include; the holistic and health benefits of work, health literacy and accessing suitable health and wellbeing support, building confidence and motivation, health management strategies, preparing for work and offering work specific advice and guidance as required.Necessary Skills/Qualifications:

Qualified Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist (HCPC registered) or Occupational Health Nurse (HCPC/RCN registered).

Experience in a MSK setting, pain management, mental health, occupational health, vocational rehabilitation or condition management.

Experience of working with those who are unemployed and/or may have health or wellbeing related issues, disability with an understanding of vulnerable groups.

Experience in the use or good level of understanding of CBT in the context of behaviour change, brief solution focused and motivational interview techniques.

The hours of work are part time role offered on a 3 or 2 day basis. You will work 9am – 5:30pm on your selected days.

The salary is £41,352per annum, pro rata and the post is temporary for 6 months. Benefits include;
