Perl Developer, London
A passionate Perl Developer is required to design highly scalable web applications for an innovative digital company. You will be working on the companys new generation software in a fun and friendly environment.
As a Perl Developer you will work for a pioneering company that has helped small to medium businesses and brilliant ideas get off the ground with DIY websites. In the last few years the company has grown 40-50% annually and has now set up over 6 million sites. Key Responsibilities:
Writing performant, structured Object Oriented Perl
Working closely with designers and front-end developers to create new product features
Writing tools and reusable components to support application development
Maintaining and enhancing current code to keep it robust, clean and free from technical debt
Learning new technologies and gaining experience in different areas of website and web applications development
Essential Skills:
Excellent experience with object-oriented Perl with substantial experience of developing server-side web applications
Fluent with a popular web development framework such as Dance, Catalyst or Mojolicious
Strong understanding of well-known Perl modules such as Moose and DBI
Good working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Experience of working in an agile environment
Candidates with experience of PostgreSQL or NoSQL solutions such as Mongo DB would be highly desirable.
