The Role

In this busy and exciting role, you will ensure that the Bakkavor Retirement Benefits Schemes (current and historical) are administered accurately, in line with legislation and Bakkavor pension scheme rules and policies.

Creating and maintaining accurate pension data and scheme records using appropriate systems and ensuring that pension contribution files are reconciled against payroll accounts – will be top of your agenda.

Working collaboratively with the Bakkavor’s pension provider, you will ensure service level agreement are met and escalate any issues to Payroll & Pensions Manager.

Supporting the Payroll & Pensions Manager with implementing any changes to pensions legislation and the impact that any changes have on Pension Scheme Membership, will be key – as will building strong relationships with other areas of HR to ensure that performance, processes, systems, and data are joined up, optimised and continuously improved.

About you

Ideally, you will have previous operational payroll / pension experience alongside:

  • Proven experience of pension scheme administration and auto enrolment legislation including re-enrolment
  • A background of working extensively with confidential and sensitive information and data
  • A passion for service delivery and customer focused approach
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills
  • The ability to challenge and question the status quo to drive change
  • Ability to produce and analyse data providing KPIS, trend analysis and recommendations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A proactive approach and the self-motivation to work on own initiative
  • A history of self-management, prioritising own workload, and working with tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail to produce high quality and accurate work
  • A proven track record in developing strong working relationships across different disciplines and influencing change
  • Pension Certificate CIPP or Payroll/HR experience/qualification (CIPP/CIPD) – would be desirable
