Workplace description: Overlooking the Moray Firth, with pretty gardens leading down to the seashore, this hotel and leisure club are set within beautiful surroundings. You can choose to dine in the conservatory of the fine-dining restaurant, where there is a ‘Taste of the Highlands’ menu. The hotel offers spacious rooms, elegant design and modern comforts. Many of the bedrooms offer superb sea views.

Main duties and responsibilities: Assists senior chefs with food preparation and cooking

Prepare pastries, baked goods and fresh deserts for the restaurant

Assists the banquet manager in the preparation and coordination of banquets

Works with the sales and marketing team to market the hotel/restaurant

Trains junior kitchen staff

Assists with the planning of menu

Oversees meal preparation and service

Ensure that food stations are well stocked before and during meals

Assist with the enforcement of health standards

Assists the head chef in dealing with hitches within the kitchen

You will be working a 4 days on 3 days off shift pattern per week.

Essential criteria: You’ll need to have an Intermediate Food Hygiene level qualification (REHIS or similar) and an understanding of HACCP and City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2. An excellent standard of written and spoken English is also required.

Charge for accommodation: 61.00 GBP per week
