Parcel Delivery Driver

We are a Logistics Company with more than 30 years’ courier experience delivering to domestic and business addresses. Due to continued growth with a major online retailer we are now seeking to recruit Parcel Delivery Drivers to work from our new depot in Holytown, Glasgow.

The Parcel Delivery Driver vacancies are permanent positions with guaranteed long-term work; full training will be provided so no previous experience is necessary.

The role will involve delivering parcels to residential addresses within the region: –

Training:
Structured training is provided to all new starters, this includes full induction, shadowing drivers and gradually building up your experience on smaller rounds.

Routes & Locations:
You will benefit from having pre-planned routes which are pre-programmed into a Sat Nav each morning; your route will be based around your home address and personal route preferences – such as town or rural delivery driving.

Vehicle Hire Available:
The majority of our drivers take advantage of our vehicle hire scheme, this means it is not necessary to have your own vehicle. Petrol, tax and insurance is all included in the scheme and the van is yours to use for personal use too. Hire cost of £200 per week (weekly contract) which includes a fuel card scheme to fill the vehicle on the company account.

*It is possible to hire a vehicle from a van hire specialist to secure yourself a better rental price; a fuel card scheme will still be provided should you choose this option.

Hours:
Working days are planned to 10 hours however loading time, break time and stem time (travel) time to-and-from the route are all included in the working day. Your working day finishes when you complete your route – this means the faster you work the earlier you finish.

Salary & Benefits:
The salary is £132a day and is paid monthly. The average basic salary is £132 a month depending on the amount of days worked. There is a performance related bonus which adds an additional £10 a shift to the salary – the majority of drivers earn an extra £220 – £240 per day through the bonus scheme, and overtime is always available on request.

*basic salary for 6 day week is £132+ bonus = £2,880 a month
*basic salary for a 5 / 6 day week is £132+ bonus = £2,640 a month

What we are looking for: –

We are looking for individuals who have good customer service and interpersonal skills and enjoy working on their own and as part of a team. Due to self-employed status you can choose to work the days (no night shifts) that suit you best; no previous experience delivery driver experience required.

Due to the nature of the role you must have a UK/EU driving licence (6 points or less). We are unable to accept applications from candidates who have been convicted of ‘drink/drug driving’ or ‘driving without insurance’ in the last 10 years.

Interviews will be taking place in Holytown, Glasgow ASAP with starts available immediately and throughout October and November.
