We have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious paralegal to join Elior and support our in-house legal team.

Providing role requirements are met, for those that have passed the LPC, we may consider offering a training contract, or sponsorship of a CILEX process to the right candidate.

What you’ll be doing…

This broad role will support the team in giving legal & compliance advice to a thriving and fast-moving business, operating in the highly competitive outsourced services market sector. While role-specific duties will include some well-established administrative, reporting, and risk analysis tasks, this is not an “admin” role.

There will be ample opportunity to improve and develop your legal analysis, drafting, and advisory skills. Legal tasks include the agreement and negotiation of new and renewed commercial contracts, both at tender and drafting stages, advising on legal risk as applied to commercial issues arising regarding the company’s large ever-changing commercial contract portfolio, and ownership and population of the legal contract summary database.

Responsibilities:

  • Checking/summarising contracts – preparing, checking, and flagging key points and potential risks.
  • Contract execution – processing contracts for sign-off, actioning completion steps, and updating clients, systems, and the wider business (and iManage records) when signed.
  • Data/team management – ensuring that the legal team systems (Tegara, iManage, reports/live databases) are updated with relevant information.
  • Reporting – preparing detailed monthly internal reports/dashboards to ensure that the CEO and legal team have a true picture of workloads and priorities.
  • Support – Assisting the legal team with various tasks/requests such as research, legal queries, IT issues, meeting requests, and general ad-hoc requests/support.
  • Audit – responsibility for managing Group audits, tracking, and managing company secretarial records, and tracking/updating the litigation log.

What can you bring?

In this role:

  • Experience in legal systems, legal procedures and trained to perform legal tasks.
  • A year or more of previous paralegal experience, preferably gained within a private practice or in-house commercial role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with good attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Legal research skills and reporting abilities with a desire to develop your understanding of the law

Training and qualifications beneficial, but not essential;

  • LPC qualification
  • Degree in Law (or other subject plus a GDL)
  • NALP Paralegal practice award, certificate, diploma; and/or

A salary of £23,000 to £27,000 depending on experience
