Driver/PA to Business Development Director with Sight Impairment (Shropshire/Staffordshire Borders)

Description

Due to a medical condition the Business owner is no longer able to drive his company car and he is seeking to appoint an individual to take on this responsibility and support him in his day to day duties as a salesman, working from a home office. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential, plus strong administrative skills in general.

The role includes sensory support, such as guiding, attending business meetings for the purposes of ad hoc note taking and reading.

You would ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent, must be of very smart appearance, aged 25+ (a car insurance requirement) and have a clean driving license. The role is national and involves travelling 20,000+ miles per annum, including an average of 2-3 overnight stays in hotels per month. The car is supplied by the company and reasonable hotel expenses are also covered.

Punctuality and reliability are musts, as there would also be a regular requirement for early starts/late finishes, once again depending on commitments. These can usually be planned in advance. You should note that the Business owner is home/office based and lives in a very rural location 4 miles south of Newport in Shropshire. There is no public transport available and taxis can be expensive, so this should be taken into consideration before applying.

The position is funded under the Access to Work programme and will be approximately 5 full days a week. The applicant must be flexible to fit in with a busy schedule. The hourly rate is £16.8and an average of 35 hours per hour are available.

Initially, there will be a trial period of 1 month to evaluate the suitability of the successful candidate. Ultimately, should this probation period prove successful, the role would be available up to the beginning of 2023, when further funding will need to be applied for. Assuming this is approved, the contract extension is usually a further three years.
