This is a fantastic opportunity for an Optical Systems Engineer to join an innovative hi-tech company working on a range of exciting space related projects. As an Optical Systems Engineer you will be responsible for developing and delivering next generation spacecraft optical instruments. Other responsibilities in this diverse role will include:
– Design and development of optical systems from concept to manufacture, system integration and verification.
– Working in a multidiscipline team on optical instrument design.
– Define and own technical requirements specifications for optical payload systems, including trade analysis of requirements working closely with systems engineers to identify requirements.
– Perform some evaluation and testing and subsystem component specification and definition.
For this role you will need:
– Comprehensive knowledge of optical Engineering.
– Working knowledge of electronics, optical device physics and opto-mechanics.
– Decent level of opto-mechanical knowledge and experience.
– A good degree in a Physics/Optics related field with at least 3 years practical work experience.
This role is based in Surrey and offers a salary ranging from £42,000 – £60,000, dependent on experience, plus some excellent benefits (32 days holiday + bank holidays, pension, healthcare, gym.)
