Operations Team Leader

Our client is a long-established Company specialising in a diverse range of waste management activities including the operation of a largescale, integrated renewable energy facility. The business operates a fully integrated Management System for Environmental Control, Quality and H&S – accredited to ISO 14001, ISO 18001, and ISO 9001.

An opportunity has arisen for an Operations Team Leader to fulfil a new role within our expanding team; reporting to the Operations Manager. The principle role of the Operations Team Leader includes the hands on management of a team of site operatives on multiple shifts.

Responsibilities:

Manage reception and off-loading of incoming wastes; bulkers, RoRos, skips, curtain siders and other vehicles carrying palletised waste.
Manage a team of site, plant and machinery operatives.
Ensure seamless interface with other systems, wood crushing, milling, processing food wastes. Management of incoming liquid wastes.
Adhere to and ensure compliance of all Health & Safety standards and procedures.
Quality and Environmental – ensure that all operations are carried out in compliance with statutory, regulatory and company requirements.
Ensure continuous improvement programmes for site housekeeping requirements.
Administration – ensure that all records relating to the waste operations team are maintained in an orderly fashion in accordance with the Company procedures.

Experience required for this role:

Experience in a hands on operational role within the waste management or related industries.
Experience of working in the waste industry managing waste transfer and treatment activities.
Experience as a supply chain co-ordinator; excellent organisation and communication skills required.
Prior experience of successfully leading and organising a team.
A proven track record of managing Health and Safety to a high standard.
Licence to drive mobile plant such as fork lift trucks, loading shovels and heavy goods vehicles would be useful.
COTC in transfer and treatment desirable.
IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications preferable.
