Salary: £120,000 – £132,000 per year

For a solutions provider in the manufacture of bespoke industrial motors for a range of innovative applications, we are recruiting an Operations Director to drive and ensure a well-oiled operation.

Main responsibilities:

• Working closely with the Managing Director and part of a tight-knit senior leadership team, the Operations Director will be accountable for the optimum efficiency of the operations, developing the strategy and targets to ensure excellent service delivery.
• The Operations Director will oversee the manufacture of products ensuring safety and quality standards, production planning and performance, financial and delivery targets are met.
• They will assume responsibility for operations from receipt of order to fulfilment, ensuring customer OTIF requirements are met.
• Providing leadership and coaching, the Operations Director will motivate the production team to achieve an excellent performance, to support change and Continuous Improvement, and to maintain a strong culture of customer focus and quality of service.

The candidate profile:

• You have gained Operations Management experience in a bespoke manufacturing or engineering environment, in an agile and fast-moving SME with demanding service levels.
• As Operations Manager, Head of Operations or Operations Director, you have gained experience planning and structuring departments, and have managed purchasing and supply chain functions delivering improvements and cost-downs.
• You have managed the operations side of the P&L, and have gathered enough experience of Lean manufacturing and Kaizen techniques to maximise efficiencies.
• A natural leader, you thrive on driving performance and growth in an agile and fast-moving SME environment.
