Oncology Nurse (Community)

Home-based Oncology Nurse

Up to £30k + car or £4k car allowance + pension + mobile&tablet + other associated benefits.

Locations include Belfast and surrounding counties

A current clean driving licence is essential.

Magnetic is working with a highly-regarded private homecare company seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse to work across the South Eastern part of Northern Ireland, with patients in their own homes, devising a plan of care suitable to the client’s needs and performing client/carer training in self-management of infusion therapies. You must be an experienced oncology nurse, able to work autonomously, planning your own workload, and hold a recognised chemo course (e.g. ENB N59). This role requires extensive travel (the day can be more than 40% travel), drug calculations, and the ability to read prescriptions and administer drugs from the prescription. You must have excellent communication skills and be IT literate.

Hours 37.5 a week over 7 days, this role involves evenings and early mornings. All overtime and unsocial hours paid at enhanced rate (30% saturdays, 60% on sundays).

Experience:

RGN part 1 NMC Register
Experience as a chemotherapy nurse/oncology nurse
Experience in an acute care setting/relevant ENB post registration.
Experience in administration of chemotherapy (including vesicants)
ENB 998 or C&G 730 and/or teaching experience preferably
Cannulation and phlebotomy skills are essential.
Experience in the care of IV devices and administration of IV therapies.
