Office Cleaner

Office Cleaners required on a Ad Hoc basis to work on a major contract in Swindon. You will be offered ad hoc work (usually one or two weeks a month) to cover permanent staff shortfalls. There is a mixture of full time and part time opportunities working between the hours 05:00 – 13:30 on a daily basis. This is a fully flexible opportunity that can work around your current lifestyle.

Desired Experience & or Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of Health & safety requirements
• Working knowledge of Industrial cleaning products and applicators
• Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
• Previous experience in a commercial environment would be advantageous but no essential
• CRB/DBS Clearance
• Excellent Customer Service Skills

Typical Duties

Working on a temporary contract in support of a large team of hygiene assistance in a commercial environment for one of the UK’s leading Facilities Management and Engineering Service providers.

Waste:
• Emptying bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points.
Floors:
• Sweeping floors with brushes or dust control mops. Mopping floors with wet or damp mops. Suction cleaning carpeted areas and “spot” cleaning carpets. Using electrically powered scrubbing and polishing machines to burnish, scrub, polish and spray clean floors (after receiving proper instruction and training). Using electrically powered pick up machines.
Furniture & Fixtures:
• To dust, damp wipe, wash or polish furniture, ledges, window sills, external surfaces of cupboards, radiators, shelves and fitments.
Sanitary Ware:
• To clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks, baths, showers and drinking fountains. To replenish consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels) if required within the contract.
General:
• The use of chemical agents as directed by the Supervising Officer in the discharge of cleaning operations or maintenance procedures, after receiving proper instructions and training.
• To undertake wall washing or inside window pane cleaning to a height no greater than body height plus an arm’s extension from floor level, during periodic cleaning maintenance programmes.
• Cleaners employed in non-office areas will be provided with specific training
• To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job.
• To carry out general cleaning duties as instructed on site by the Contract Manager
• Carry out all duties effectively and within dedicated time scales
• Carry out duties within company safety policy and advise line manager of all situations which could affect the safety of people or property
• All staff are expected to provide a welcoming environment and be courteous to colleagues and other users of the Facilities.
• Prior to starting any work you will need to complete the company “Personnel Vetting” procedure.

Remuneration Package

annual salary of £26,000per year, 28 days Holiday Pay Pro Rata, Uniform/PPE
