Cambian is dedicated to psychiatric rehabilitation. We provide intensive assessment and treatment for people stepping down from secure facilities or acute hospitals. Our aim is to build their living skills, insight, education and confidence required for individuals to achieve the independence required for discharge.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, forward thinking occupational therapy assistant to join our friendly team at St Augustine?s. You must have excellent team working, organisational and time management skills.

You will require:
v Basic computer skills (report writing)
v Previous experience/skills in care setting (desired but not essential)
v Knowledge of Occupational Therapy
v Enthusiasm, motivation and flexibility
v Excellent communication skills with all groups of people
v Range of interests in activities (from self care to vocational and leisure)
Summary of responsibilities:
v Contribute towards the assessment and treatment of individual?s function and mental health as directed by the Occupational Therapist
v Produce monthly electronic reports on patient progress
v Manage a caseload of clients under supervision of Occupational Therapists
v Increase independence of patients with a mental illness
v Co-ordinate patient daily programmes and therapy money
v Devise and implement individual and group activities for patients
(Ranging from self care to vocational and leisure)
v Provide feedback on function in informal and formal meetings
v Retain good links with the local community facilities
