We are currently recruiting for a committed and qualified Occupational Therapist to work within a small Therapy team and manage a clinical caseload of people with special needs and/or learning disabilities. This is a permanent, full-time position within a trusted school who are able to offer the successful candidate a fantastic career opportunity along with excellent benefits.

Our client predominantly care for and educate children and young adults with special educational needs and/or learning disabilities. Job Responsibilities

• Support generalisation of skills by delivering input in both the educational and residential settings.
• Work closely with Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapists (SaLTs), Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) to ensure effective contribution to the school’s multi-disciplinary team.

• Ensure continuous assessment, implementation and review of therapy input to ensure progress.

• Utilize clinical reasoning skills to analyse findings from assessments and identify a young person’s occupational strengths and needs.
• Ensure adherence to HCPC standards and relevant professional bodies.

Requirements

The successful Occupational Therapist will:

• Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Hold valid HCPC registration.

• Demonstrate ability to use assessment findings to develop therapy programmes.

• Previous experience working with children or young adults with special needs is highly advantageous.
• Possess excellent written & verbal communication skills.
