Guidant Global has partnered with one of our esteemed clients, a leading name in the missile and defence industry and a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence. They require a highly skilled Occupational Health Nurse to join their forward-thinking in-house service, primarily at their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. This role may offer an excellent opportunity for the contract to be extended or made permanent and involves full-time onsite work.

What we’re looking for:

  • Registered Adult Nurse – RN1 with relevant OH technical experience
  • NMC RN part 1
  • Experience and formal health surveillance training in audiometry, lung function testing – health screening (e.g., holds a certificate from Amplivox) – essential
  • Skills and experience in health screening – Blood pressure, near-patient testing (finger prick), phlebotomy and ECG – essential
  • Experience in travel health programmes – travel health training certification – desirable.
  • Experience in delivering immunisation programmes (e.g., flu vaccination) essential
  • Excellent IT skills – MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience working with occupational health databases – essential
  • Case management experience if candidate is a trained/qualified OHN (e.g., SCPHN)
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Well organised, able to prioritise
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written

What you’ll get to do as an Occupational Health Nurse:

The candidate will perform various tasks, including health screening, travel health, health surveillance and case management. They will also be required to deliver presentations and reports at forums and meetings and support the businesses in delivering the Health & Wellbeing Strategy and Campaigns. In addition, the candidate must help the company meet legislative requirements, work closely with Human Resources and Safety team colleagues, and be an integral part of an OH UK-wide team. The job may require inter-site travel.
