The Nursing Care Manager oversees the management of a specific floor, department or area reporting directly to the Care Services Manager with regards all areas of resident care. Managing his/her area by example, being visible, involved and accessible at all times. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to hiring, recruiting and training care assistants and nurses for their department. Dealing with team member recognition, one to one meetings, annual performance reviews and on-going coaching and counselling of team members. When necessary facilitating resident care meetings with families, the completion of relevant resident assessments alongside the completion and updating of care plans for the residents within the department. The completion of the team member staffing schedule according to budget guidelines and submitting payroll hours as per the Signature process. It is expected that the Nursing Care Manager completes any required training and become knowledgeable in the Signature philosophy, policies and procedures. As the Nursing Care Manager for your specific floor or department you are expected to develop and maintain a positive atmosphere for residents, families, visitors and team members. This is a full time role.
