The role:
The Editor’s role is to aid the preparation and delivery of client press packs and to ensure tasks are carried out to the highest quality and delivered in a timely manner. Reporting to the Night Production Manager you will be required to multi-task and adapt to a continually changing working environment. For night to night job allocation, personnel and performance matters you will report to the Senior Sector Editor. You will maintain company values and ensure resources are utilised efficiently and effectively to deliver to tight deadlines.
You will continually seek to improve your performance and may work on projects or new initiatives agreed with the Manager to develop the service provided.
Required working hours: The hours of work are 10:15pm – 6.15am Monday – Monday during your on-shift. The shift pattern is 7 days on, 7 days off. You may be occasionally requested to come into the office outside of your normal working hours.
Your main responsibilities will be:
• Maintain and improve performance standards.
• Read for all agreements with in your allotted sector (s) Assisting other team when your work is completed.
• Summaries articles in accordance with client brief
• Produce press packs to the highest standard
• Edit press packs in accordance with client briefs where required
• Participate in projects to support new initiatives
• You may be required to assist in other areas of the operation like dispatch and printing
• Ensuring deadlines are met through constant communication with SSE, Manager, Dispatch Coordinators and Quality Control Manager
• You may be required to assist in other areas: scanning and clipping articles electronically.
Skills:
• Literacy: Good verbal and written communication skills
• Accurate: Detail conscious, follows instructions at speed
• PC astute: Sound keyboard skills and pc appreciation
• Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills
