Position Summary

We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an Internal Business Development Specialist to join our Sales team. Reporting directly to the Customer Development Manager, you will be working for the world’s largest food & drink manufacturer with some of the worlds most loved Supplement brands, think Solgar, Nature’s Bounty, Vital Proteins, Minami and more!

The Internal Business Development Specialist is responsible for interacting with existing and new small to medium accounts on a daily basis, to sell them the benefits of the company’s products or services and to update them on new product launches and monthly promotional programs.

A day in the life of an Internal Business Development Specialist …

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage an account base of existing Independent Health
  • Food, Pharmacy and Practitioner customers over the phone in order to persuade them of the benefits of buying products, increasing the distribution of the 2 product ranges, attending organized events, providing Company, campaign and promotional mechanic information
  • Selling in rate of sale mechanics such as Loyalty Schemes,
  • Retailer Recommends and POS
  • Achieve a monthly/quarterly sales target
  • Minimum of 85 outbound calls per week
  • Explain and clarify company news, such as: new product launches, active promotions and latest product/category updates.
  • Keep customers up-to-date on discontinued lines as well as current out of stock lists
  • Liaise with the field sales team
  • Key in and process orders
  • Carry out other Customer Development functions for this customer base e.g. returns or taking funds to release orders
  • Occasionally be required to help out the CDA’s during busy times
  • Maintain digital CRM account records; detailing outcomes of each call and objectives / action plans for the next call (to this customer)

What will make you successful

To be successful, you’ll have previous experience in telesales operations. You will be passionate, tenacious, results focused and enjoy working in a highly energetic and exciting environment.

 

In addition, you will also have:

  • Efficient and effective verbal communication skills
  • Good remote sales techniques
  • Natural charisma – ability to come across to customers as genuinely likeable, trustworthy and interested in what they have to say
  • Resilience – ability to move straight on with the next call and remain upbeat even after dealing with a difficult or
  • abusive customer
  • IT skills – quickly and efficiently accessing records, updating files and checking databases
  • Strong organisational skills – planning monthly/daily call schedule, setting priorities, coordinating with other members of the team whether office-based or field-based
  • Ability to multitask
