About the role:
Activate Learning has an exciting opportunity available for a passionate and creative Digital Media and Teacher to join our teaching team based at City of Oxford College campus.
The role will deliver across our Digital Concept art and Animation and Media qualifications, with particular focus on our Level 2 and 3 Diplomas. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential, develop their attributes and become lifelong learners.
You will work collaboratively with our existing team of talented and passionate teachers and vocational trainers to ensure we plan and deliver purposeful practical and theory lessons. Our students are eager to learn and we want to appoint someone who can provide them with a high level of knowledge and skills, that they can utilise in their careers or progression to University.
Activate Learning has an excellent record of delivering vocational courses with employability embedded at their heart. This is achieved through excellent relationships with industry and the employment of experts with extensive professional experience within the teaching team.
This is a permanent, full-time role working 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE). There is also the potential for an immediate start.
What do you need to be successful as a Media Teacher at Activate Learning?
We are looking for people who can act as positive role models for our students and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher. Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting and purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners. We want teachers who can ensure that students leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified teacher who holds a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
- Have an appropriate professional qualification and/or a degree within an Art or Media pathway
- Possess an open mindset and attitude towards technology and virtual learning tools
- Have the ability to expose students to a wide range of skills within Art & Media, Adobe Suite, Graphics, Film, Photography or Digital Art
- Have current Maths and English skills
- A working knowledge of UAL Art or Media programmes would be an advantage
