Mechanical or Plant Fitter
Job Description
Jenrick are working with a leading waste and recycling company who are looking for a Mechanical/Plant fitter.
Main duties
- To abide by & promote health & safety, ensuring all approved Company safety policies & processes and other relevant legislation is followed. To ensure compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
- Carry out of time based mobile plant inspections and servicing
- To provide mobile plant repair, maintenance and servicing skills including fault identification, analysis to facilitate repairs, improvements, inspections, adjustments and refurbishments to agreed standards.
- To provide adequate cleanliness levels to mobile plant and surrounding areas including workshops.
- To carry out PPM maintenance and record all details of inspections
- To carry out daily checks in and around the workshop areas daily/weekly/monthly in accordance to company policy.
- Plan, rig, sling and act as banksman for simple lifting operations. Where trained and competent operate powered hoists, pendant type
- To assist and cover the stores during busy or holiday periods, including signing in and out of MID UK tooling and lifting equipment.
- Ensuring work areas are kept clear at all times and that unused or waste material are returned to stores or properly disposed of at all times.
- Ensure work is completed in a safe and timely manner and where required details of work carried out and faults found are reported to relevant Team Leader and recorded on Maintenance managements systems.
- Ensure that tools required for tasks are kept in good condition and that all defects are reported immediately.
- Be a member of the mechanical maintenance call out rota.
Qualifications (Bonus – can be trained on the below)
- Rigging & slinging.
- MEWP / IPAF trained.
- Working at height / harness Training.
- Abrasive Wheels Trained.
- Fork lift / telehandler trained.
- IOSH Working Safely
Experience
- Previous Mobile plant maintenance experience gained within the Recycling Industry medium / heavy industry, quarrying, process industry, etc.
- Driving and operation of mobile plant and equipment, front loading shovels, telehandlers, fork lift trucks, 360 excavators, etc.
- Proven experience and fault finding and problem solving on a range of mobile plant equipment.
- Operation and use of Hydraulic hose assembly equipment.
- Servicing and repairs of mobile plant air conditioning systems.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of Industry safe standards and systems of work, including equipment isolation and permitting systems.
- Knowledge of removal, fitting and maintenance of rolling element bearings.
- Principles of basic bench fitting and engineering standards.
- Basic operation of main stream computer systems, windows, apple, android, etc.
- Basic condition monitoring techniques for mobile plant and equipment (oil analysis sample collection and results interpretation, thermographic inspections)
- Lubrication grade and application.
- Hydraulic and mobile plant electrical circuits and component operation.
Skills
- Ability to safely use a variety of basic hand tools, portable electrical equipment
- General Bench fitting and basic fabrication.
- Ability to read and fully understand mobile plant electrical and hydraulic circuit drawings.
Package
- Monday – Friday day shift (occasional Saturday when required)
- £18-20ph plenty of overtime
