Shorterm require 3 x Mechanical OR Electrical Technicians

JOB TITLE: 3 x Mechanical OR Electrical Technicians
JOB LOCATION: Willesden, North West London
SALARY:£42,989(£33,469) during the first 6 month probation
HOURS PER WEEK:40 Hours per week
SHIFT PATTERN:2 days on 3 off. 4 nights on and 7 off. 5 days on 2 off. 3 nights on 2 off. PLEASE NOTE THIS SHIFT PATTERN INCLUDES WEEKENDS.

Position Summary:

To start, you will have a 3 month Training Period to become Safety Critical and achieve the relevant rail competencies. You will start your training initially on the day shift for the first 3 months. This will be based at New Cross Gate/ Ilford and/or Willesden so you must be flexible in order to complete the training.

Once you have become safety critical you will then start on days, lates and nights carrying out mechanical and/or electrical examinations following a Vehicle Maintenance Instructions (VMI).

Job Duties:

The role is carrying out routine maintenance on rolling stock carriages with a focus on mechanical routine maintenance but with an appreciation of electrical systems. This COULD include:

*Brake checks
*Door systems checks
*Checking Oil levels / Oil Change
*Checking Water levels
*Wheel set examination, repair and analysis
*Gearbox examination, repair and analysis
*Using a Laptop to run a diagnostics check/ identify Fault/ Fluke Meter Tests
*Carry out basic electrical fault finding using a Fluke Meter
*Carry out basic electrical Testing and fault rectification
*Carry out basic Heating & Ventilation modifications
*Carry out basic seating modifications
*Carry out basic grab rail modifications
*Bogie overhaul, damage repair and engineering
*damage repair and clean
* gearbox engineering / repair
*Bearing, axle and wheel mounting
*Changing relay boxes
*Driver seats / Wiper motors/ Couplers/ Actuators

As part of a small technical team undertaking maintenance, repair and rudimentary fault finding on rail vehicles, ensuring that the Rolling stock Fleet are operated safely.
KEY EXPERIENCE:

Use Laptop to diagnose faults
Follow maintenance manual
Use diagnostics tools
Convert A/C to D/C
Troubleshooting and evidence gathering / PLC troubleshooting /Strong IT Skills

Qualifications:
The following attributes are a necessity:
*Proven ability to carry out routine maintenance from written instructions.
*Knowledge of computer based asset management system to record and close out work completed.
*To be able to review work carried out and improve sequencing in order to reduce timings to a minimum.
*To be able to prioritise work to maximise output with resources available.

Education required:

*Completion of a recognised apprenticeship
*Educated to high standard in an engineering discipline, (i.e. HND/HNC).

Candidates from the following industries will be considered:
This position is predominantly mechanical however candidates with an electrical appreciation will be considered. Candidates who have the ability to demonstrate following a routine maintenance schedule will also be considered. Clearly candidates with Rail experience will be given strong consideration.

Electrical Maintenance Technician – Routine Maintenance on Production line machinery
