Working Hours: Rotating Shifts
Mon-Thu 06:00 – 14:00, Fri 06:00 – 11:00
Mon Thu 14:00 – 22:00, Fri 11:00 – 16:00
The Client
Our client, a leading name in the design and manufacture of high performance automotive components are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join their team during a period of major investment and growth.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will have a relevant time served mechanical engineering apprenticeship, be qualified to Level 3 or above and have at least two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

The implementation and execution of PPM whilst always striving for continuous improvement. Corrective maintenance, overhaul and breakdown maintenance of machinery to ensure the quality of production is maintained and achieved within set timescales.
Respond appropriately to unexpected and/or continuing situations, which develop in the work environment
Ensure prompt attention and resolution of conditions that impact the business
Schedule machine time with Production in order to perform repairs or planned maintenance to equipment and may secure necessary materials and parts for the scheduled and unscheduled repairs
Build and maintain history on equipment, assess breakdowns, prioritise and take appropriate corrective action. Provide technical assistance to ensure shortest possible machine downtime, recording and creating manuals & drawings for early machine recovery
Attend departmental meetings with team members to discuss projects, issues, team briefings etc.
Order required parts follow up orders to ensure spare parts are fitted to the appropriate machine on delivery
Process, review, and expedite work orders, modification and equipment drawings, schematics, check sheets, job instructions, and calibrations recordsRequired Qualifications and Experience
Recognised engineering apprenticeship, together with at least 2 years’ experience in a maintenance department of a manufacturing company
Minimum ONC or City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent (Technical Certificate, etc.)
Time served apprenticeship
Ability to fault find, identify root cause, and prevent reoccurrence of issues quickly is also essential
Capable of working unsupervised or within a team
Conversant with the use of machine tools
Knowledge of maintenance policies, procedures, and termsThe Person
Great communication skills at all levels
Ability to undertake a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints
Respond effectively and perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly
Knowledge of appropriate office software applications
Good organisational and time management skills
