Mechanical Design Engineers

My client, one of the UK’s leading contractors within the Water sector, are currently looking for Mechanical Design Engineers to join their team based in Peterborough. You will be responsible for ensuring the project deliverables at met alongside agreed quality standards, as well as delivering the benefits by design strategies as advised by the Technical Manager. This is a brilliant opportunity, offering a permanent position with a competitive salary for practised and successful Engineers in the water/wastewater non-infrastructure sector.

Deliverables:
-Work within an experienced and highly motivated team of professionals.
-Ensure deliverables are meet alongside agreed standards.
-Responsible for production of technical deliverables e.g.; Technical schedules and data sheets, Engineering calculations (hydraulic, pump hydraulic calculations, structural calculations, carbon, RICS, TOTEX calculations, etc.), particular specifications for engineering sub contracts.
-Working closely with the client and contractor partners.
-Supporting the Discipline head in H&S, producing safe designs in line with CDM regulations.
-Communicating at all levels to ensure the required work is understood and implemented. Escalating issues impacting on time, cost or quality to the technical manager.
-Maintaining an estimate for design works needed to deliver precast design.
-Assist with: mechanical elements of standard design to aid repeatability, supply chain capability to move to BIM/PLM across all projects, supply chain reviews, mechanical elements for establishing new frameworks with the supply chain.
-Develop and continuously improve mechanical design processes

Suitable candidates will have:
-Water/ Wastewater treatment experience essential.
-Mechanical detailed design background.
-Degree/HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
-Chartered or member of a relevant engineering institution (i.e. IET)
-Signification experience in a similar role within the UK in the water/wastewater (non-infrastructure) sector.
