Mechanical Design Engineer (Intermediate)

Salary: £42,000 – £54,000 per year

Jackson Consults are working with a Mechanical contractor seeking an Intermediate mechanical design engineer to join their office, supporting the Senior Engineers and Directors you will carry out mechanical design work, producing mechanical design drawings, including calculations (using Hevacomp and IES software’s), producing reports, specifications, schedules and system designs.

You will liaise with design and project management teams both internally and externally, representing the business in design meetings where required.

The role will require skills and talent to fulfil the technical responsibilities of a Mechanical Design Engineer including but not limited to:

• Completing existing facilities site surveys and preparation of reports.
• Early-stage design works, producing load estimates and assessment of plant area spatial allowances.
• Design calculations 
• Assisting in the development of design solutions to comply with all recognised standards and Building Regulations. 
• Assisting in the production of reports required, including relevant supporting documentation required for BREEAM and SKA accreditations. 
• Supporting project risk assessments to ensure safe installation and operation and in compliance.
• Production of detailed CAD Drawings, required for tender, construction or other purpose.
• Assisting in the production of project specifications and schedules, adapting standard specification information where needed.
• Attending and contributing to Design Team meetings
