My client is a farm & general service, agricultural contracting company based in Pluckley, Kent. They provide agricultural contracting, farm & estate management, organics recycling, utility contracting and agricultural civils & landscaping.

Based out of Pluckley, my client is looking for an Agricultural Mechanic with welding skills to join their team. This proactive individual will be in a supervisory position, managing 1x apprentice and 1x yardman. You will be provided with your own van and will have experience in repairing, maintenance and inspections of fleet vehicles, farming equipment and agriculture machinery/vehicles. Due to the nature of the works you will be required to undertake welding, fabrication, and machining work as necessary to keep the machinery working during busy periods. This role requires someone with good communication skills, as they will need to notify and report any problems and urgent issues directly to their manager.

This position would ideally suit someone with a passion for Agriculture, be self-motivated and ability to not only be self-managed but also able to organise priority tasks.

Main responsibilities:

Maintaining and upkeep of a variety of farm contracting equipment and machinery.
Complete and undertake both 6 weekly and annual fleet inspections.
Carry out, diagnosis and repairs to hydraulics/electrical systems.
You will be responsible for your own dynamic risk assessments and adaptable method statements. will have to be engaged for the workplace operations.
Conduct initial assessment of plant and vehicles and identify root cause and formulate a remedy.

Requirements:

Mechanic experience with Agriculture machinery, including repairs and maintenance.
UK Driving licence and experience with driving a long-wheeled base van.
Welding experience.
Engineering trade qualification desirable but not essential (examples inc. Mechanical, Engineering, Welding)
Passionate and Driven attitude, as there will be elements of large workloads.
