Salary: £30,000 – £33,600 per year
Materials Scientist/ Cambridgeshire/ £30,000 – £33,600 per annum
You will be working for a dynamic company which specialises in providing a photopolymer manufacturer that holds a patent on pre-packaged photopolymer which is made and sold under the Imagepac brand. The company supplies these products to the stamp and flexographic printing sectors.
For their location in Peterborough they are searching for a Materials Scientist on a fixed term 6 month contract with the possibility of a permanent position.
You will be willing to get involved in all aspects of operations, including the development of the world s most energy efficient continuous 3D printing technique using photopolymers and LCD technology.
Key Responsibilities:
– Produce a roadmap for the continuous 3D printing technique concept design. Approved by academic and MD.
– Research documents highlighting key principals, techniques and existing work that will help inform the design of the 3D printer/photopolymer.
– R&D proposal presented and approved by the academic and MD as to the direction the R&D experiments and activities will take.
– Documented outputs from experiments and tests.
– Documented outputs from laboratory testing.
– Mock 3D designs created for key printing components.
– Monthly project meetings.
– Presentation of concept with recommendations for future work. Presented to MD, knowledge embedded within R&D team.
Essential Skills:
– A minimum of a 2:1 degree in Materials Science, Engineering Materials or similar
– Previous commercial/industry work experience or a demonstrable portfolio in researching and understanding statistical analysis
– IT literate in the use of CAD software and Mat LAB
– An understanding and preferably experience of working with polymers and 3D CAD modelling software and statistical analysis tools and an understanding of Chemistry
