Salary: £45,600 – £48,000 per year

Providing a fantastic opportunity to work for one of the leading manufacturers in the Midlands, a leading, instantly recognised brand, experiencing a period of massive growth. As a result of promotion and increasing demand for their new products, an opportunity has arisen for a Materials & Planning Supervisor.

Duties
• To ensure the logistics area of control is led effectively and efficiently.
• Continuous improvement through the deployment production systems and lean methodologies.
• To develop a work group structure to support the roll out of lean initiatives
• People management, including absence control and performance management.
• To develop team skills and flexibility within the department
• To control budgets including overtime and consumables within the material handling function
• Implementation of corrective actions using structured problem solving techniques.
• Identification of training needs and the development of your team.
• Co-ordination of Team Leader activities.
• Manpower planning.
• Area/process improvements.
• Day to day management of supplier schedules ensuring continuity of materials supply
• Ensure team reviewing material schedule exceptions
• Inventory control and management
• Analysing PI stock discrepancies, developing plans to drive variances positively through implementing improvements whilst liaising with other departments e.g engineering, production.
• Pro-active review and continuous improvement of suppliers / logistics / transportation / packaging
• KPI Management
• Analysing material shortages and root causes, develop plans to improve
• Managing third party logistics partner to deliver continuity within supply chain and operations
• Introduction of new parts management
• Supplier Improvement/Resourcing projects

Expectations:
• You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working within a logistics environment
• Demonstrate a good understanding of supply chain management
• You will have an understanding of production planning
• You will have experience inventory control
• Demonstrate good leadership skills within a high pressurised fast moving environment
• You will be IT literate, able to use all aspects of MS Office to an Intermediate level and able to adapt to new systems
• You will be highly organised, able to multi-task and prioritise a busy workload
• You will be self-motivated and have the ability to fit into an established team, bringing new ideas, ambition and drive
• You will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal
