Manufacturing Manager

My client is one of the UKs leading multi site food manufacturing operations. With a diverse product portfolio, the site is currently experience a period of sustained growth & increased capacity.

To be considered for this role you must have extensive experience in Operational leadership within a Food/FMCG business unit. You will be able to demonstrate strong organisational & development skills supported by a strong knowledge base of different types or production, lean manufacturing and project management.

The Manufacturing Managers responsibilities on a day to day basis will include:

Overseeing all on site manufacturing to create a highly motivated team, with a strong emphasis on lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
Ensuring that all production requirements are met with regards to quality, quantity and timescales.
Maintaining strong working relationship with internal stakeholders through periods of capital investments and growth.
Strictly control departmental budgets, including labour costs, within the agreed parameters determined by the General Manager.
Creating a culture of continuous improvement where employees are encouraged to explore more cost effective solutions to production processes.
Establishing and maintaining clear communications with the Departmental Managers and Supervisors as a group. Develop and coach this group of people to improve their leadership capabilities and empower them to make effective decisions.

Ideal candidates must have substantial operational experience within a food/FMCG environment. This position would ideally suit an individual who is an established production professional with a strong background in highly automated food manufacturing. The position would form part of the on site senior management team – with prospects of future progression within the group.
