Job Purpose
The Management Accountant is responsible for managing the Accounts department and Payroll function and to ensure the monthly management accounts are produced to a high standard.
The Management Accountant will be part of the finance team ensuring the highest standards are achieved to meet the needs of the homes and other services.
Key Responsibilities:
Monthly Management Accounts
To manage the production of month end Management Accounts
To provide commentary to the Management Accounts
Liaise with homes with the review of Management Accounts versus Budgets
To maintain all bank reconciliations
Weekly cash flow forecasting & reporting
Maintain the Fixed Asset registers
To reconcile and journal mid-month payroll accruals
To produce loan interest/repayment accruals and reconciliations
To maintain all Balance Sheet reconciliations
To run and reconcile accruals and prepayments
To maintain Intercompany reconciliations
Treasury management
To assist the Managing Director with budgetary preparation
Accounts Receivable
Management of the Accounts Receivable team
Sales billing reconciliation and accruals/deferrals.
Resident refund and credit payment uploads
Review Aged Debtors
Accounts Payable
Management of the Accounts Payable team
Run supplier prepayments
Supplier payment upload
Review Aged Creditors
Payroll
Supporting the HR Manager with management of the Payroll team
Reconciliation and journal of mid-month payroll accruals
Current Ad Hoc Tasks and Priorities
Support with the quarterly VAT returns
To reconcile agency use
Support with the Management Accounts for the Directors other business interests.
Provide support across the Finance department where and when required
To provide assistance at the Year End audit
To complete the National Statistics requirements
To assist the Financial Controller with projects that may arise in the development of the business
Other ad-hoc accounting duties that may arise
To meet the deadlines as set out by the Financial Controller.
Person Specification:
Qualifications/Education
A level English and Maths or a BTEC equivalent
Qualified or part qualified working towards ACCA or CIMA qualification or 5+ years qualification by experience.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience
working within a Management Accountant role.
Experience with understanding commercial finance
Skills/Knowledge
Excellent written non-verbal and verbal communication skills including grammar and punctuation – Essential
Advanced level or higher in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook- Essential
Advanced knowledge of Excel Marcos and SQL queries
