Job description

Value Added Services (VAS) is a diverse catalogue of services ranges from e-Procurement and e-Ordering of fully out sourced end-to-end Goods Not for Re-Sale (GNFR) operations on behalf of the largest FMCG retailers, to uniquely tailored solutions for niche independent businesses. VAS is part of the Consumer & Retail business unit within the Contract Logistics division. This role is assigned to a new contract within VAS which handles the warehouse servicing provision for large, outsized items

Due to continuing success and growth we are seeking to recruit a Management Accountant to support and lead the finance team with the implementation of a large new contract. The role will be to support all finance activity from providing weekly and monthly Management Accounts to KN Managers and the Customer ensuring that the Customers are charged as per their Contractual agreement as well as providing key Operational reports as per the agreed deadlines.

* Ensure that weekly / monthly Management accounts including operational and financial KPIs and variance analysis are produced along with the finance administrator and be able to provide holiday cover as and when needed.
* Ensure the customer is charged in line with the contractual arrangement and that any queries are resolved leading to KN receiving payment on time and in line with expectations
* Lead the weekly review of results with site Operational Management team and attend monthly customer meeting to discuss site performance.
* Support in the preparation of monthly forecasts for KN and Customer
* Work with the KNPS team to highlight savings and provide evidence of costs savings in the KN cost base.
* Management and development of a small finance team.
* Ensure the payroll for the site is correctly captured via the Smart T&A system and reported to KN payroll department.
* Ad hoc month end analysis work as well as annual budgets for both KN and the customer.
* Produce full monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations with risks and opportunities clearly identified.
* Produce monthly report showing current claims list and highlight any exposure to KN.
* Maintenance and creation of management reporting spreadsheets

Your skills and experience

* Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA Accountant or by experience preferably within Logistics
* Experience of using ACON or a similar accounting package would be a distinct advantage
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential
* Excellent communication skills at all levels
* Good leadership skills
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team to meet tight deadlines
* Excellent time management with some flexibility in approach
* Experience of dealing with Internal & External customers as well as a good understanding of key cost drivers & variance analysis
