As a Major Programme Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the management and delivery of the technical requirements on a major Defence Programme. You will be an integral part the design, development, design proving, test, commissioning and in-service support of the equipment as part of a multi-disciplined team. This work may involve sensitive information so the applicant must be able to obtain security clearance.

What you’ll be doing
This position will suit an Engineer looking to forward their career in the systems discipline. The role will see the job holder joining a successful engineering company, who have ambitious plans to develop new and technologically challenging markets across the world.
· Support the management, the capture, analysis, traceability, configuration and V&V of product requirements.
· Support business development and bidding activities through technical work package definition and related resource effort estimation.
· Coordinate and support the delivery of engineering work packages.
· Work with engineers from all disciplines to develop design specifications and supporting documentation using a traceable system engineering methodology.
· Support the functional and non-functional system requirement analyses.
· Carryout system integration verification and validation activities and support issue resolution.
· Coordinate directly with internal and external customers.
· Prepare documentation and presentation material to effectively communicate technical subject matter to audiences not familiar with the subject or technical aspects.
· Support the planning of and tracking the progress of engineering assignments within agreed schedules, to quality standards and budget in accordance with project and company processes.
· Assist in the evaluation of new technology and methods.
· Follow project and company quality control and configuration management procedures and maintain the correct records of all work undertaken.
The skills you need
· Degree, HND or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
· Familiar with systems engineering best practice.
· Experience with electrical design and product development.
· Experience with naval combat systems is desirable.
· Competence with requirements management tools such as DOORs is preferred.
· Competence with SYSML management tools such as EA is preferred.
· Training will be provided where necessary.
