Maintenance machinist

REPORTING STRUCTURE
• To report to Technical Manager

LOCATION/SHIFT PATTERN
• Maintenance department
• Day shift

JOB PURPOSE
• To provide a machining service to maintenance, production and engineering depts..

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Servicing a wide variety of consumable parts
• Servicing a simple press tool
• Machining of replacement consumable parts to samples and drawings
• Making of one-off parts to drawing or sample

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• General machining experience in a maintenance environment
• Able to operate equipment listed below
• Able to use measuring equipment (verniers and micrometers)
• Able to work to drawings and samples
• Able to organise own work area
• Able to service simple press tools
• Basic welding experience an advantage

Equipment
• Surface grinder
• Universal milling machine
• Lathe
• Vertical and horizontal band saw machines
• Pedestal drill
• Bench grinder
• (welding equipment — electric, TIG)
