Machine Operator (Continental Shifts)

Salary: £14.1 per hour

Our client is a market-leading business based in Heanor, Derbyshire. You will be expected to work continental shift patterns.

Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, the successful candidate will operate various machinery, and aim towards the effective running of the department, ensuring that the products you produce meet quality standards.

Your main duties as Machine operator include:

* Operating a conveyor belt and metal detector.

* Handling scrap plastics in various forms over long periods

* Demonstrating a responsible attitude and behaviour to health and safety and the operation of machinery.

* Maintaining a safe, clean working environment without risk to health.

* Preserving a good working relationship with work colleagues to work safely and maximise levels of production.

* Starting-up and shutting down machinery as/when instructed.

* Carrying out and accurately record quality checks and information.

* Working to relevant departmental SWP’s at all times in line with training received.

* Complying with the company Health & Safety Policy, ensuring that PPE is worn at all times.

You as the new Machine Operator will:

* Have prior experience of working within a manufacturing environment

* Have experience of H&S responsibilities within a manufacturing environment

* Be able to work unsupervised and be able to use own initiative

* Be able to form good working relationships at all levels

* Be physically fit (as some heavy lifting of scrap plastic is involved)

Working hours will include:

* Continental shifts (2 days/2 nights, then 4 off, repeat)

06:00am – 18:00pm / 18:00pm – 06:00am
