Morrison Energy Services is currently looking to recruit SHEQ Advisor to work on our Cadent CMO Contract. This role will be based from our depot in either Barnet or Slough and will provide Health & Safety support to our operational teams, who work across the North London and Essex areas.
As a SHEQ Advisor you will be a key part of our SHEQ team who provide expert advice, assistance and guidance with regards to the management of health, safety and environmental issues.
Morrison Energy Services is a working in partnership with Cadent Gas on a 5 year contract to deliver the Network Mains Replacement programme and other related investment projects in North London.
As a Health & Safety Advisor your duties & responsibilities will be:

  • Assist and advise the operational and management team to further develop the management systems and operational practices
  • Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. risk assessments, risk management, fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational health
  • Assist with the development of SHE management systems
  • Liaison with external bodies including the Health and Safety Executive, Clients and other stakeholders as directed by the SHE Manager
  • Support incident management & investigation process
  • Produce toolbox talks, team talks and appropriate SHE training materials about health and safety issues and risks.
  • Monitor trade contractors via site inspection and management audit
  • Act as a role model at all times in support of the London CMO visions, priorities and values
  • Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
  • Consistently demonstrate high standards of safety behaviour, leading by example and promoting safety culture
  • Previous experience as a Safety Advisor in a construction environment (Utilities experience desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience of Temporary Works management
  • Ability to influence at all levels
  • Ability to manage potential conflict during site inspections with operational teams
  • Capable of delivering confident articulate presentations
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office – Word, Powerpoint, Excel
  • NEBOSH General or Construction
  • NRSWA qualification and Utility SHEA Gas Passport is desirable
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel
