Linux/Unix Systems Administrator Finance – Oxford

Linux/Unix Systems Administrator is required by an award winning Software House Company based in Oxford. You will have at least 3 years professional system administration experience in a Linux/Unix environment supporting business©critical systems and a degree in a scientific or technical discipline. You will also have significant Linux and general system administration expertise -C configuration management, system interfaces, performance tuning, file system semantics and implementations, computer security, familiarity with a wide range of infrastructure©related software and strong teamwork and communication skills.
Desirable skills and experience: Expert knowledge in any of the following: storage architectures and protocol details; WAN architectures and global network development using third©party data connection providers; HPC computing architectures (GPU/CPU hardware, interconnects, RDMA); distributed computing e.g. Hadoop, grid computing, Experience with any of the following: supporting scientific IT environments; low latency systems; building high performance, resilient systems using commodity hardware and open©source software and Familiarity with Linux kernel internals and strong system programming skills.
