Salary: £36,000 – £40,800 per year
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Linux Systems Administrator / Linux Support Engineer to join an exciting and growing business. The primary responsibility is to help in keeping the company’s IT infrastructure up and running in an optimum way, and to contribute in the definition and implementation of any future IT infrastructure upgrades and additions.
Responsibilities include:
· Maintain, install, upgrade IT infrastructure equipment (network, WIFI,
servers, VOIP phone system)
· Troubleshooting and fixing any issues with the above
· Monitoring equipment, server and security software logs
· Data backup and security
· Network and system security
· User account management/administration
· Liaise with hardware, software and other solution providers
Linux system administration experience:
· Hardware setup/upgrades
· OS install/configuration/updates
· Safe and comfortable with root access
· Network setup/debug
· Security: firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention
· Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux services such
as Samba, HTTP, SQL, DHCP, VPN
· Familiarity with scripting/programming: shell (bash…), python, c/c++…
