Licence Rationalisation Consultant – IT Infrastructure

World leading IT Integrator are looking for a Licence Rationalisation Consultant to join their team, initially for a 3 month contract.

The Project

The ‘Microsoft Licence Rationalisation’ project has a mandate to drive better value from the client’s Microsoft licensing agreements by recommending options to upgrade, consolidate, or replace Microsoft components in retained applications.

The Role

This role is to look critically across the client’s Microsoft server estate and produce a report detailing recommendations to achieve this aim by (e.g.) retiring components, licensing in a different way, replacing with open source etc. The report should identify “quick wins” i.e. those options that can be implemented quickly and easily; and plans for longer term implementation options.

Skills required

Good knowledge of Microsoft server and database architectures and licensing options, good knowledge of viable alternatives (e.g. open source), good report writing skills and the ability to articulate options and recommendations.
