We are looking for an innovative, self-motivated software engineer to join our growing digitisation project team in creating the systems, algorithms, and applications that will allow us to provide information to our customers (both internal and external) however they want to receive it.
Our growing team produces data driven applications to improve our current business and create new opportunities for our customers in the UK and around the world. The team is part of the Customer Support and Service Solutions (CS3) line of business, which operates across the UK, providing innovative and invaluable support solutions to our customers. We help to ensure the availability of front-line capability wherever and whenever required.
Our team is spread across the UK and you can be based at any of our Main UK sites to do this role.

This role will include a combination of new product development and maintenance/upgrade of existing products. It will include:
Concept, Solution & Design – working with other members of the team to take the customer’s user stories, turn them into requirements, and use them to build prototypes and design applications.
Full Stack Development – building, testing and deploying the back-end data models, APIs and application code that allow different data sources to be amalgamated, accessed and processed by our customers in a way that meets their needs.
The work being done within the Digital team is key to the future of the CS3 line of business, and has the potential to make a real difference to the way that we work and the solutions that we’re able to offer our customers. This role offers the ability to help shape how we achieve this, as well as having the opportunity to work with the customers to ensure that what we create really meets their needs.

Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, Principal Software Engineer will:
Lead, as wells as contribute to, small development teams to develop algorithms and applications that capture data from several sources, and transform it into insightful, accessible information for the end user
Direct and support the Business Analysts in requirements management (solicitation, tracking and verification)
Design and development of features to meet the customer and system requirements, taking into account their integration within the overall solution architecture
Test and evaluate your design with end users
Adapt and modify existing applications to improve functionality and usability
Propose improvements that would enhance the user experience
Software configuration management
Ensure compliance of any software developed with company processes and security standards
Ensure re-use and modularity across any solutions proposed
