This role is to work closely with the Technical Director in overseeing the compliance and regulartory requirements are met, across employees and/or consultant solicitors. Work in a team of 3 with further legal supervisors, you will be and experience and qualified individual within Residential Property. Based in either Peterborough or Reigate with hybrid working, due to the nature of the role, we would seek someone who is happy to attend the office two/three days a week.
Reporting directly to the Technical Director – Residential Property, this role will be overseeing and supervising Legal Supervisors in residential property, covering both employed and consultant colleagues. You will ensure that all legal compliance and regulatory requirements are always met, promoting best practice and excellence in all we do.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced candidate to put their property experience to use working with a team of Fee Earners and Legal Supervisors.
This role involves but is not limited to:
- To assume primary day to day supervision responsibility for regulatory duties, utilising Legal Managers and Supervisors to effect tasks emanating from the duties
- Assist in the supervision of new Employed Solicitors and their caseloads and take the lead on any resolutions or escalation needed directly with Fee Earners
- Responsibility for manual legal updates and internals communications to Fee Earners
- Assistant the Legal Managers and Legal Supervisors, adhering to parameters within the Supervision Policy and Procedure, recruit as necessary
- Being the escalation point for the Legal Supervisors
- Together with the Legal Managers, monitor open file levels, accounts balances, dormant files and liaise with the respective fee-earner actions required, monitoring completion
- Undertake file reviews including High Value Transaction reviews when required
- Review all potential new colleague applications and due diligence, approving as appropriate
- Assist in Quarterly appraisals, personal and professional development of Legal Supervisors
- Assist in compliant escalation’s and leaver process where necessary
- You must be willing to travel to other offices and meet with Fee Earners when required
