Salary guideline: £80,000 to £90,000

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their Custom Cloud Applications team.

• You’ll lead a cross-functional group of engineers focused on the effective management and optimisation of applications, maintaining, and improving reliability for your customers whilst ensuring sustainability for the engineers themselves through automation and innovation.
• Collaborate with Senior Software Engineering managers to deliver improvements in support of the technical roadmap and customer satisfaction.
• Coach and nurture your engineers on how to achieve their technical, business, and personal goals
• Ensure platforms are performant, reliable, scalable, and secure.
• Enhance the engineering and agile delivery processes with the team

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in a similar Infrastructure or DevOps role
• Proven experience of administering highly available cloud applications on Google Cloud Platform
• Understanding monitoring KPI’s, SLA’s and defining SLI/SLO
• Extensive knowledge of DevOps methodologies – application delivery pipeline Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment
• Scripting and automation methods such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, YAML, PowerShell
• Configuring Security posture and hardening configurations
• Technical skills in as many of these as possible: Public Cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle), PaaS, (Containers, Kubernetes, Pub/Sub, FaaS etc), Automation and Configuration management (Terraform, Ansible), Networking and firewalling, Database administration (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), Security and Penetration testing
• Degree level, diploma or equivalent education preferred
