We are currently seeking a creative and dedicated Lead Process Engineer with a proven track record to help understand future trends for business development and to lead process designs during development, proposal and execution stage of projects.
The position is very customer facing and requires a combination of in-depth product and process design expertise in drinking, process water and wastewater treatment, in depth understanding of integrated, complex process schemes, along with commercial expertise in technical sales, and customer relationships.

 

What is the purpose of the role?
The Process Engineer will join the EU Process Engineering team, supporting business development, sales and execution of new municipal/ industrial water and wastewater treatment solutions.

You will take a lead function in the area of water and wastewater treatment, based on in-depth expertise around UF/MBR/Desal membrane technologies and will lead, consult and review process relevant initiatives, developments and projects.  You will develop and lead integrated, complex projects, where multiple technologies are to be merged in an overall treatment scheme.

You’ll be managing a team of process engineers and coordinating their activities.

One important aspect of the job will be to reuse as much as possible available technologies standards and when appropriate will contribute to develop new standards for in house technologies.

The Lead Process Engineer will work with the global product management, technology and process expert teams as well as the regional sales and projects teams (in particular engineering) to identify future trends and requirements throughout the region ensuring that business opportunities are aligned to technical knowledge.

The Lead Process Engineer works with the commercial engineers, project management, engineering functions, commissioning and service activities to ensure technical awareness and address knowledge shortcomings.

 

What does the day to day look like?

  • Develop the water and waste water process engineering expertise around membrane-based applications and solutions
  • Lead regional initiatives and developments to grow the business, challenging the boundaries of applications.
  • Risk & warranty reviews.
  • Work with global product management and technology around Veolia’s UF/MBR and desalination related membrane products and applications
  • Work with regional leadership to identify market trends and the business strategy required
  • Review and position key deals which involve membranes.
  • Develop technically accurate and compliant bid strategies to win new projects.
  • Support proposal preparation incl, risk analysis and guarantee definitions.
  • Work as a team with Sales and Commercial Engineering through specification review, competitor analysis, proposal review, and preparation/review of mass balances, PFD, hydraulic profile, P&ID, layout drawings and process descriptions.
  • Develop and execute client-specific process designs for new projects, including pre- and post-treatment requirements, membrane design and OPEX calculations and life cycle cost analysis.
  • Support plant commissioning and performance testing and troubleshoot issues raised in operating plants

 

What are the essentials?

  • Master’s or higher degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineer or other technical discipline with emphasis in process design and/or controls of water and/ or wastewater treatment unit operations.
  • Process design experience
  • Experience in the field of UF/MBR membrane technology and further water and/or wastewater treatment technologies
  • Process design and optimization of conventional solids removal systems
  • Desalination technologies (e.g. RO, EDR, IX etc.), MBR and any other technologies (e.g. thermal technologies).
  • Experience in leading complex water treatment schemes, e.g. industrial process water production projects.
  • Good knowledge in water chemistry.
  • Work permit or visa for the country in which you will be based.
  • As well as English, you will need to be fluent in the language of the country in which you are based, and these can be Hungary, France, Italy, or Spain
