Lead Engineer – Seats

Position Description:
SEATS Lead Engineer / PMST role leading Introduction and development of new and modified features requested by Project Teams and end user Customers. The candidate will interface with both tier 1 suppliers and internal departments to ensure targets are met in the development of components for Interior Trim enhancements . MUST HAVE Engineering Design/ Development background within Automotive Trim or similar for Interior components, ideally having worked within both OEM and Tier 1 trim suppliers .

Skills Required:
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Proven Automotive Interior TRIM experience, minimum 5-10 years working in industry at OEM or Tier 1 suppliers
2. Seating Foams and Covers or Seat Structures
3. Low to medium volume tooling experience including RP

Experience Required:
Degree in Engineering or comparable qualification. General knowledge of automotive Trim Design, component manufacture and construction knowledge – with specific experience in automotive seating. Project management of designs ensuring timely releases for virtual series gateways and Tooling /Production releases. Lead and co-ordinate the design and development of interior components from initial concept design through to Job 1 implementation.

Experience Preferred:
Strong knowledge of at least 2-off the following CATIA V5 or Digi-Buck / Vis-Mock-up Plus Tce – Desirable.
Experience of problem solving tools e.g. 6 panel, PPS (8D), FMEA, Robustness, etc and able to lead problem resolution projects.

Additional Information :
Would be a DISTINCT ALL or most advantage to have the following: WERS /Efdevs trained iether at Ford or JLR locations. Ideally trained in RMDV PACN , AIMS, PPIR , 8D & DFMEA , plus working knowledge of the STA / PPAP PSW Process.
