Landscape Technician

Our prestigious client are seeking an experienced Landscape Technician to provide technical assistance and undertake the production of computer-aided drawings, to support and illustrate the work of the Landscape Team at all levels, from initial sketch design concepts to landscape and visual plans for public inquiries.

As a Landscape Technician, the successful candidate will be required to advise Project Directors, Project Managers and landscape architects of appropriate approaches to drawing management, content, graphics and presentation techniques to achieve the objectives of efficient drawing production within set project timeframes and the provision of suitable technical or presentation information with clarity, legibility and accuracy.

As part of the Landscape Technician role, you may be required to attend or undertake site visits.

The role:

Sourcing relevant background information
Ordering OS tiles and aerial photographs
Preparing and the presentation of plans and drawings such as Topography (landform) plans, Landscape planning context and landscape character plans, analysis concept and sketch design plans and illustrative photomontages (non-verified)
Develop the Landscape team’s drawing templates.The person:

We are looking to recruit a positive and enthusiastic team player who has a good working knowledge of a number of software packages including AutoCAD: 2D, Adobe, LSS ground modelling, ZTV, Artisan, Google Earth and Google SketchUp.

In addition you must:

Have proven experience of 3D AutoCAD, AutoCAD City and Guilds 7579-03 or 3D Studio Max
Have the ability to prepare verified photomontages, hand-drawn sketches and have a good understanding of perspective
Ideally have a working experience of BIM and Windfarm project work
Be self-motivated and be able to use their own initiative
Be able to prioritise their workload to meet project deadlines and work within fee budgets
Manage complex drawing production
Be able to liaise with clients, other consultants or technicians both internally and externally.
