Salary: £36,000 – £48,000 per year

We have a new opportunity LabVIEW Software Engineer. Our client is based in Bishop’s Stortford and requires somebody with extensive experience developing applications involving sensors, mechatronics and digital cameras, as well as experience of interfacing to embedded systems. Strong analytical and mathematics skills are a key requirement and demonstrable experience with statistical analysis and algorithm development would be advantageous. You will work within a team of talented specialists in Mechanical, Electronics and Software Engineering. The successful candidate will have a degree in an Engineering, Science or Numerical Discipline and be a LabVIEW Certified Developer (minimum of three years’ experience) with strong mathematics and analytical skills.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

* A degree in an Engineering, Science or Numerical Discipline
* LabVIEW Certified Developer (minimum of three years’ experience)
* Strong mathematics and analytical skills
* Interfacing with embedded systems, complex sensors and motor controls
* Ability to architect, write, build and debug large LabVIEW software applications
* Understanding of signal processing and digital filtering
* Strong Microsoft Excel abilities including writing Visual Basic Scripts
* Meticulous and detail minded
* Good communication skills
* A natural affinity with all things technical
* An organised and analytical mind-set, with an eye for detail, balanced by a creative ‘outside the box’ attitude to problem solving. Highly motivated to use one’s own initiative
* Committed to delivering projects within budget and to agreed timescales
* Comfortable in dealing with commercial and technical contacts, client side and internally.
* Confident in communicating technical concepts to internal and external clients
* Adaptable, can work on different software projects in parallel
* Attitude of a team player, able to interact and influence
* Stays abreast with technological developments in Software technology relevant to the company’s business area

Desirable:
* LabVIEW Certified Architect
* LabVIEW Vision Development module experience
* LabVIEW Graphical Object-Oriented Methods using LabVIEW Classes
* Experience with other National Instruments software and hardware packages
* Data analysis
* Knowledge of optical measurement techniques
* An understanding of electronics and standard test equipment
