Kitchen Assistant

My client a well known popular restaurant are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join their ‘Family’ in Halstead, Kent.

You will be responsible for:

>To assist with the preparation of meals following pre-set menus in accordance with Health and Safety regulations and quality control standards
>To assist with the smooth running of the kitchen by reporting faults, breakages and damages to equipment in a timely manner in accordance with policy and procedures
>Excellent customer service skills
>Good verbal and written communication
>Demonstrate high personal and food hygiene
>Proven experience as a Kitchen Assistant
>Able to work in a high pressure environment with the ability to be flexible, adaptable and maintain a high level of customer service
>Responsible for maintaining hygiene in the kitchen as a team effort at all times
>Washing up through the day and maintaining a tidy kitchen at all times
>Cleaning the kitchen floor and generally wiping down
>Cleaning fridges and freezers
>Cleaning the ovens / grills / fryers
>Emptying the refuse bags
>To ensure that stores are checked in and appropriately stacked on the shelves
>Maintain an awareness and take responsibility of the Health and Safety requirements within the kitchen.

You will have experience in a similar role and have good knowledge of health and safety.
