Keltbray is the UK’s largest distribution woodpole contractor, delivering refurbishment and construction services to six of the seven DNO customers across the UK.

Delivering multi-year frameworks and capital projects from LV to 132kV, we are also able to respond to system emergencies for all our clients to assist them in returning their network to service during storms.

Due to a new contact win covering the North East we are looking to strengthen our team with experienced Overhead Linesmen..

Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out all work in connection with the construction, maintenance and report of Overhead lines.
• Monitor the overhead lines and report any defaults.
• Carry out live line work on overhead lines up to and including 33KV.
• Install and connect, or disconnect and remove, whole current metering.
• Remove and replaces links and fuses on the LV network.
• Use meters and instruments and records readings.
• Carry out rigging, erects and inspects pre-formed scaffolds and pole and clip scaffolds.
• Carry out tree felling and tree trimming.
• Drive vehicles and carry out roadworthiness checks.

Skills and Qualifications

• LV & HV Authorised
• Hold an Electrical Engineering qualification.
• To have previous experience/knowledge in the field of overhead line construction and maintenance.
• To be prepared to train and learn new skills.
• Organisational Awareness
• Able to complete self-risk assessments.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Flexibility
